Use of Branch name as domain registrant

The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society New Zealand Branch Inc. (Branch) recognises that many clubs and Regions operate a website but find it difficult to transfer registration of the domain name between individual committee members as these change over time.

The Branch offers its name as the registrant name for a website domain by a club or Region on the following conditions:

1. The domain must be used only for the purpose of furthering the objectives outlined in the constitution of the Branch;
2. The Branch must have approved the registration of the domain in the Branch’s name by the requesting club or Region (Domain Owner), in writing;
3. The Domain Owner is responsible for the hosting of, all content on, and supply of services from, the website represented by the domain (Website);
4. The Domain Owner is responsible for all payments for or related to the domain and the Website;
5. The Domain Owner indemnifies the Branch against any claims relating to payment for, services on, or content of, the domain or the Website;
6. The Domain Owner must nominate to the Branch, and maintain, a contact person authorised to act for the Domain Owner; and
7. The Registrant Contact email address for the domain registration must be itcoord@dancescottish.org.nz. The Technical, Billing and Admin contact email addresses must relate to the Domain Owner, not the Branch.

If any of these conditions is breached, or if the Branch in its discretion determines at any time, the Branch may withdraw approval to act as registrant by notice to the Domain Owner. The Domain Owner must nominate a new registrant within 7 days after receiving the Branch’s notice of withdrawal, and the Branch will arrange transfer of the domain registration to that person. If no nomination is received, the domain registration will be cancelled.

If the domain or Website is found to be being used for storing or transmitting illicit materials or proprietary information, or for harassing others, approval will be immediately withdrawn and the domain registration cancelled.

The Domain Owner may request a transfer of the domain registration to another registrant at any time. The Branch will verify the request with the nominated contact person and then arrange transfer of the domain registration as requested.

The Branch may vary these terms at any time, by giving at least 30 days’ notice to the Domain Owner’s nominated contact person.
