Transport to Summer School:
Summer school will run one bus from Wellington Airport departing from outside the airport domestic terminal at 2:00 pm 28th December, calling at Platform 9 Wellington Railway Station then direct to Summer School. A bus will also be run from Summer School to Wellington Airport departing Summer School at 10:00 a.m. 5th January to arrive at the airport around midday. The fare for the bus is $30 each way.
The Wellington Masterton trip must be booked in advance and paid with your final summer school fee by 1 December 2017. The return trip can be booked at the same time or booked and paid for at Summer School. Trains
Trains will be on a holiday timetable from Christmas Day until after New Year. Precise details are not confirmed until early December, however it is possible a normal weekday service will be available on 28 December and very likely that a weekday service will be running on 5th January. If the weekday service does not run it will be replaced by the very limited weekend service.
Solway is the closest station to Summer School but we recommend getting off at Masterton which is the end of the line so you don’t need to worry about finding the right stop or getting your luggage.. If you want to get the morning train please advise the Summer School organiser so we can arrange to meet you at the station

Driving
The distance between Wellington and Masterton is approximately 100km. The route is over the Rimutaka Range. The road rises to 555 metres above sea level at the highest point. Travel time is around 1½ hours from Wellington City and around 2 hours from Wellington Airport.
Please note: There is no direct public bus service between Wellington and Masterton.
